Dear MPP candidate,

Congratulations on your candidacy in the upcoming election of MPPs in Ontario. Please allow me to introduce Political Scorecards Canada.

We are nonpartisan, grassroots organization, whose aim is to assist Canadians to become aware of the risks and benefits of legislation as it pertains to their constitutional rights and freedoms, property, families, and persons. We support the idea that all public officeholders are both servants of the public and stewards of public resources and, in that role, they should govern themselves by the widely accepted Nolan Principles of Public Life.

With the February 27 election date fast approaching you need to give voters a clear picture of where you stand on important issues. Below please find a Questionnaire for you to complete, it is the same one we are sending to all candidates so as to allow voters in your constituency to assess all candidates against issues that are of concern to them.
The political profiles will subsequently be used to assist in development of a personal scorecard which reflects your voting history as a MPP,  your verified public statements and your responses to questionnaires.
Your response and the future scorecard can be viewed by the public at www.politicalscorecards.ca .

We also ask that you consider joining with other fellow legislators in The  Pledge to uphold our rights and freedoms. This will play a part in the scorecard evaluations.

With the Questionnaire and the Pledge, incumbent MPP candidates will have the opportunity to change their historically based scorecards, while new candidates can have their voices heard for the first time. This is an opportunity for you to get your viewpoints in front of Ontario’s voters and tell them how you will address the critical issues we are facing in our province.

If you believe that elected representatives should lead with integrity and govern with transparency and accountability, then please complete the Questionnaire and sign the Pledge to allow Ontario voters the opportunity to know what you think. Political Scorecards along with our partner organizations will strive to get your message out to constituents in your riding.

We encourage you, as a candidate, to help the public cast their votes with confidence. Please complete the questionnaire and join the Pledge online as soon as you receive this email. Time is short. For further information, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

R.S. Murray,
